Paige Jacobson earned her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics in May 1995 with a minor in Computer Sciences. She first became associated with the Norton School of Family and Consumer Sciences in January of 2001 when she was hired as a Program Coordinator to work with Dr. Sherry Betts on numerous grant projects. She became an Accountant in the business office in 2004. Over the years, mainly due to rapid expansion of the Norton School, but also because of the staff reduction necessitated by a series of budget cuts, Paige’s responsibilities and workload as an accountant have become greater each year. Unfortunately Paige has been found in her office during many weekends, trying to catch up with her work. Nevertheless, she is always looking for more challenges and ways to improve herself, and she has consistently taken on greater responsibility with enthusiasm. Paige has shown incredible professional growth over the last several years. She has become highly competent at working with diverse constituencies, ranging from faculty to students. Whenever people are in the need of help for funding accounts and/or computer assistance, it is “Paige to the rescue.”
Paige is the consummate team member, an expert at the financial and budget system as well as at the computing system. She has an incredible dedication to her work, her devotion to the Norton School and her ability to pay attention to detail. Paige is extremely valued by faculty, students, staff and other friends and supporters. Paige has been extremely helpful to the Council in keeping the financial records and serving as a liaison between the Council and the University of Arizona Foundation. The Council of Alumni and Friends is proud to honor Paige for her outstanding service to the Norton School and the Council.
