UNDERSTANDING YOUTH DEVELPMENT

CHALLENGES FACING THE FIELD OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT IN ARIZONA

• Currently in the State of Arizona there is no formal statewide infrastructure to support the work of youth serving organizations (e.g., 4-H Youth Development, Boys and Girls Clubs, After-School Programs).

• Many youth serving organizations lack the resources necessary to invest in professional development opportunities for their staff.

• Rural youth serving organizations are often isolated and lack the opportunities to participate in professional development opportunities.

• The lack of professional development opportunities often prevents youth-serving organizations from reaching their full potential.

The Arizona Youth Collaborative offers coursework on:

  • UNDERSTANDING YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: KEYS TO SUCCESSFUL PROGRAMMING (STATEWIDE 48 HOUR PROGRAM)
  • UNDERSTANDING YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: AN APPLIED APPROACH (3 HOUR GRADUATE COURSE)

More information about the courses is available here.
