The Terry J. Lundgren Center is pleased to announce that five Retailing and Consumer Science students have each won $5000 scholarships awarded by the prestigious Fashion Scholarship Fund (FSF). These scholarships are granted based on solving a complex case study competition, which is designed and evaluated by FSF professionals. Based on the quality of the case study solution, up to five, $5000 scholarships per school can be conferred and only 28 universities in the country are invited to participate. From the pool of $5000 winners, one student per school is nominated to compete for one of four $25,000 Geoffrey Beene awards to pursue their education and career goals.
The Fashion Scholarship Fund is made up of influential members of the fashion community who are dedicated to promoting fashion arts and business education by granting scholarships, internships, mentorships, and career opportunities to talented students. The late Geoffrey Beene was responsible for starting this program and initially funding this endowment.
Congratulations to Alison Yurcak, Carley Howell, Killian Dorgan, Jordan Gardner, and Melissa Homa for winning this outstanding honor. They will be traveling to New York City on January 9-11, 2012 to attend a gala event and receive their scholarship.
