Welcome Dr. Katrina Bens who will join the RCSC Academic Program as Assistant Professor of Practice this spring!
Dr. Bens holds an undergraduate degree from Williams College in Economics and Spanish, Masters degrees from Cornell University (Agricultural Economics) and the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. in Marketing from the Pennsylvania State University. Prior to starting the Ph.D., Dr. Bens spent four years in Latin America working for a consulting company in Bogotá, Colombia and S.C. Johnson & Sons in Caracas, Venezuela.
Dr. Bens researches how market and customer orientations impact firms’ financial and competitive performance. She has conducted multiple large scale national surveys to collect data for her research. Her research has been published in academic journals such as Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing and Business Strategy Review and profiled in Sloan Management Review.
Prior to joining the University of Arizona, Dr. Bens was an adjunct lecturer for Eller MBA, visiting lecturer at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she taught undergraduate and MBA classes on industrial marketing and marketing strategy. She has received teaching awards at both the University of Illinois and the Pennsylvania State University.
