Wildcat Charter School Fights Childhood Obesity with Garden

TUCSON - In Arizona, state health officials say one in every four adults is obese. The same is true for our local kids. Childhood obesity in Arizona is hovering right below 25%.

It's why Kristi's Kids is planting the seed for a healthier lifestyle.

University of Arizona students are lending a green thumb at Wildcat Charter School.

They started a garden to help nourish the idea of healthy choices.

"Currently in Arizona we're experiencing increasing levels of obesity and type II diabetes which is brought about through improper eating and just an unhealthy lifestyle," says Juan Palomino one of the college student volunteers with the Students in Free Enterprise team (SIFE).
