This one unit course explores how military service influences
children, youth, and families.

May 16-June 7: Pre-Session
“Understanding Youth Development: An Applied
Approach” FCSC 496a/596a - 3 Units
This course focuses on understanding positive youth programming
and its influence on youth development. It helps prepare
individuals for working directly with youth.
June 6 - July 7: Summer I
“Understanding the Modern U.S. Military Family”
FCSC411b –3 Units
This course focuses on military life issues, including relocation,
deployment, reunification, and recent changes in the U.S.
military family and how these issues affect children.
July 7 - August 10: Summer II
“Understanding and Working with Young Children”
FCSC 423/523 - 3 Units
This course explores theories and research in early child
development and practical applications for working directly with
young children and their families.
