We provide quality advising to our students to insure success both in the classroom and experientially. Following are the steps taken within the RCSC major to assist students.
- All other RCSC students will be assigned to an advisor - to find out who your advisor is please contact School Student Services at (520) 621-1295 or by email at sfcs@ag.arizona.edu
- To set up an appointment with your advisor please email them first - this may save you time since many questions can be answered in a timely manner via email. More information on advisors.
- Always notify the advisor in advance if you cannot keep your appointment.
- Always bring an updated SAPR to your appointment.
- Bring a list of questions so your time is well spent.
- Become familiar with the listing of courses and degree requirements for fullfilling the major.
- Please note, however, that the Retailing and Consumer Sciences division does not offer a minor in RCSC and does not participate in the Interdisciplinary Studies concentration.

RCSC STUDENTS SEEKING ADMISSION INTO THE MAJOR (formerly called the PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM)
The RCSC major consists of a Pre-Major and a Major. Students who first declare RCSC are Pre-Majors and must take certain pre-requisite courses for progression into the Major (see pre-requisite list). Pre-Majors must attend a Major Information Session and must meet with their assigned advisor at least once per semester.
The RCSC Major accepts new students into the Major Cohort in December and in May. There are several requirements for the Pre-Majors: submit an application for progression in the Major (pending); all pre-requisite coursework be completed with a grade of a C or better; an average GPA of a minimum 2.60 be earned with the combination of RCSC 214 and RCSC 216 (see UA catalog).
