"First Look" Sites
Arizona Flora and Fauna Image Gallery, University of Arizona
Images of plants, animals, and diseases found in Arizona. A few images of organisms not found in Arizona, but which are being studies by researchers in Arizona. Searchable by scientific name, common name, and keyword.

Calflora - A California Botanical Resource
Substantial detail and images for variety of plants. Searchable by family, scientific, or common name, type of plant, elevation, or county. You can also list all plants (in the database) in California or show them by location. $10 fee to use the site.

USDA Plant Image Gallery, U.S. Department of Agriculture
Excellent search function to find images using both scientific and common name.

This site accesses over 21,000 images of plants. It allows you to look for photos, choose a name from one of the lists, or complete any combination search fields.

Atlas of the Vascular Plants of Utah , Utah State University
Listed by plant family name and then scientific name. Elevation shown and location mapped to sites within the state.
 
Checklist of the Vascular Plants of Texas, Texas A&M University
This is a facility for performing full-text searches on the entries in A Checklist of the Vascular Plants of Texas by Hatch, Gandhi, and Brown. Search by common or scientific name.
Texas and Oklahoma Plant Image Gallery, Noble Foundation
Indicates photograph and basic description of grasses or glasslike plants, forbs, trees, shrubs, and wood vines. Can be searched by common name, scientific name, season, growing conditions. Plants are primarily for Texas and Oklahoma but many are relevant to Arizona and other arid lands.
