Resource Notebook

Dear Grandparent, aunt, uncle, or adoptive parents,

We're glad that you found us! As a grandparent raising a grandchild or grandchildren, and whether you have been doing this job for 2 days or 2 years, you know that it can sometimes be overwhelming.

This resource notebook has been designed to provide you with information we hope you will find helpful. For the past several years we have been working on creating a support network for grandparents in Pima County doing the important job of raising their grandchildren. Many grandparents have told us that they did not have the information they needed when they began their job of being a parent the second time around. We hope that the ideas you get from this notebook will let you know that you are not alone on this journey, which is sometimes full of worry and sometimes wonderful.

This resource notebook was compiled with funds from a Community Services Block Grant given by Pima County Community Action Agency, Raytheon Employees' Rays of H.O.P.E., United Cerebral Palsy of Southern Arizona Aging Caregivers and Exceptional Children Project, Arizona Children's Association through K.A.R.E Family Center, in cooperation with Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Southern Arizona Coalition. The information was gathered by grandparents who are currently raising their grandchildren, and other interested members of the coalition. Feel free to add anything you find helpful...and let us know what it is so we can pass it along to other grandparents.
