The goal of the Convolvulaceae Pollen Atlas is to build a comprehensive atlas of pollen images for the entire family. Those who might find pollen information useful include palynologists, palaeobotanists, climatologists, apiculturists, agricultural extension agents, students, systematists, and soil scientists, among others.

New publication on climate change and the origin of species

Associated researcher Dr. Margaret Evans has completed a new study based on ARIZ specimens. This study “Climate, niche evolution and diversification of the bird-cage evening primroses (Oenothera sections Anogra and Kleinia)” was published in the February 2009 edition of The American Naturalist.

The University of Arizona is proud to announce the lauch of our new website. This website uses a content management system (CMS) based on WordPress. Use of a CMS means that all herbarium staff can add and manage herbarium content directly. This approach will permit more frequent update of content and improved access to the many resources at ARIZ, including our specimen searching and mapping interface.
