Books at the Herbarium

The University of Arizona Herbarium has a sizeable library of books and journals. Most botanical journals and floras owned by the UA Main and Science Libraries are housed here. They are listed on Sabio, the University's on-line library catalog. These may be checked out like other library materials. Loan of these books follows the guidelines and policies of the university library.

In addition, the Herbarium has a large collection of other botanical reference works not owned by the library. These are property of the Herbarium. They are not on Sabio, and are not lent out. But you are welcome to peruse them at the Herbarium.

Also available is a large collection of botanical reprints, filed by family (for taxonomic works) and by geographic area (for floristic works). There is also a map collection, with emphasis on Arizona and the Southwest.

To aid in your quest for knowledge about plants of your world, we have written book reviews of those tomes we find most useful in day-to-day plant work at the herbarium. Follow the links below!
