Environmental Education (EE) Grant Guidelines for Fiscal Year 1997-1998

    Regular EE Program Grants

Regular EE grants of up to $10,000 support curriculum development, training for educators, development of balanced materials, field trips, and school-based field sites or facilities.
      Application deadline: September 30, 1997.

    "Fast Track" EE Grants
In order to facilitate low-cost EE activities, AACEE has simplified the process where applicants may apply for a support grant of up to $1,000 using the "Fast Track" application form. This process can be used for any Regular EE Grant purpose, but educators are encouraged to consider it for field trips.
      Application deadline: September 30, 1997

    Class Environmental Research Contest
This competition allows high school and middle school classes (or student groups) to select a topic from the five environmental issues for 1997-98 and write a balanced environmental research paper. Entries will be judged and winning entries will receive a field trip/educational experience grant award of $10,000 for first place; $5,000 for second place; and $2,500 for third place. The AACEE has earmarked $200,000 for this contest.
Registration form deadline: October 1, 1997.

These grant programs are the first offered under AACEE's statutory authority. The Council members have worked hard to develop meaningful guidelines which will support and improve environmental education in Arizona.
