10/16 - 31 - Fall Plant Sale. 8-4 daily. Drought-tolerant shrubs, vines, trees, cacti, and other succulents and herbs are featured during this seasonal sale. Annual members get special savings, and staff horticulturists are available on weekend to answer questions and offer landscaping advice. The sale continues daily. 10/30. Escape from the Ordinary: Under-utilized Landscape Plants. 10:00am-12:00pm. Do you have a boring yard? You don't have to put up with the same old landscape plants when there's a world of unusual specimens to explore! You can add excitement and variety to your garden by including native and arid-adapted species not common to much of the landscape trade. Corman highlights some of these fun and unusual plants appropriate for local landscapes, many of which can be obtained from small local nurseries or grown from seed. The slide lecture is augmented by a tour of the Park grounds and our retail and propagation nurseries. $4/member, $8/non-member.
