Youth Development Curriculum

Understanding Youth Development: Keys to Successful Programming is a 36-hour training curriculum for those who work on behalf of young people.

It is formatted into 9 four-hour units, designed to provide much needed information regarding key aspects of high quality youth programs that include: 1) Overview of youth development framework, 2) appropriate structure, 3) supportive relationships, 4) opportunities to belong, 5) positive social norms, 6) opportunities for skill building and 7) integration of family, school and community.

The curriculum utilizes PowerPoint technology, experiential learning, video and additional handouts to address diverse learning styles. A unit evaluation and a comprehensive on-line exam are available.
