Treatments and Practices

The treatment consisted of a prescribed burn followed by a maintenance plan. The maintenance plan included continuous and complete herbicide treatment of the highest water-yielding sites with the exception of a hardwood-riparian area, occasional spraying with foliar herbicides to lower the density of brush on the moderate water-yielding sites, and retention of cover on steep and rocky sites (Suhr 1967).
