Form: thick-leafed succulent, pointed leaves form rosette; more upright and narrow than Agave americana; offset plantlets at base
Seasonality: evergreen; dies after blooming
Size: to 6ft with equal spread; moderate growth rate
Leaves: large thick points, to 4ft long; mildly toothed if at all, spine on tip only; upright, usually more narrow at base instead spooned out; tropical appearance
Flowers: large stalk to 15ft high bearing cluster of yellow flowers
Fruit: flat disk seed enclosed in capsule
Stems/Trunks: removal of lower leaves creates a short trunk-like look
Range/Origin: Mexico
Hardiness: to high teens

- Exposure: full sun, excellent under mesquite-type shade, spindly in dense shade
- Water: low; best with supplemental during hottest part of year (1-2 irrigations per month)

less blue (more greenish overall) than A. americana
