Flowers: not significant
Fruit: decious; winged seeds on females, 1in long
Stems/Trunks: gray with linear furrowing trunk; obvious graft union on young specimens
Range/Origin: southwest US; popular cultivar of F. velutina
Hardiness: to 0°F

LANDSCAPE VALUE:

• best ash for residential landscapes
• holds dense canopy

CULTURAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Exposure: full sun
• Water: regular best; heat and drought tolerant; keeps lush look in adverse conditions
• Soil: uniform, good drainage
• Propagation: vegetatively only; a grafted cultivar
• Maintenance: low, raking of fall leaf drop

canopy is much more rounded, oval, than the taller and linear F. velutina
