Form: irregular upright conifer; may have either shrub or tree form
Seasonality: evergreen
Size: 15-20ft, spread to 10ft; moderate to slow growth rate

Leaves: scales, very compressed
Flowers: inconspicuous
Fruit: small berry-like cone
Stems/Trunks: twisted stems, unusual and artistic
Range/Origin: China, Mongolia and Japan; introduced into the US in the 1700's

one of the more upright selections of the junipers
twisted stems make a very attractive form
J. chinensis 'Phitizeriana' is a large group of popular varieties
