I want to create a hedge in the (west facing) front of my house in a rocked area by the sidewalk. Earlier this year, I planted Pittosporum and its failed miserably as a hedge and has nearly died. Right from the start the plants got sunburned and it was obviously the wrong plant for the area. Moon Valley Nursery says they have Japanese Boxwood plants that have been acclimated to intense sun.
Is Japanese Boxwood a suitable plant for full AZ sun? And, can I plant them now? If not, is there a better plant to use to create a hedge?
Thanks.
