Dear Linda,
We have a night blooming Cirrus that is in a pot outside and is rapidly outgrowing any space that we can provide for it. We may be able to place it in the ground at a new location where we will be moving in a few years. However, currently we need to prune some of the growth and need some help in selecting which areas to prune.
There are some rather rigid growths that begin with a triangular shape at the base, extend a foot or so into the air, and then become a flatter leaf. There are also some growths that look more like "leaves" in that they are flat their entire length without any triangular area, are more flexible, and which drape over the side of the pot. We don't know what structures can be pruned without affecting the integrity of the plant.
By the way, this is a bloom crazy plant, sometimes having 13 blooms in a single night. It blooms mostly year around, though more in the summer.
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
