[Arid_gardener] Mesquite tree problems

I need information on how to get rid of mistletoe infestation.  There is too much of it to cut the limbs back.  I have tried that before.  It just keeps popping out on another limb.  If I cut them all, there would be no tree left!  Is there another way to get rid of it that you can recommend, like a systemic poison that would only get rid of the mistletoe and not hurt the tree?? There are some out there, but I really don't know anything about them, and they are expensive. Really would like to save the tree if at all possible.
