I overseeded my lawn with Burmuda seed in the Spring and it looked terrific until 6 weeks ago.  Since that time it has died out in areas, is  very sparse in other areas and there are white pebble-like objects on the surface of the soil.
The grass is slowly coming back in the dead areas but not looking too healthy.
Has it been struck by a disease?
