I have two queen palms that need attention. They are not doing well. Here's the problem as I see it:
When I backwash the pool filter I drain the pool water into the landscape, I use 3" Chlorinating Tablets (Trichloro-s-Triazinetrione). As the backwash water pools in the landscape the area around the base of both queens are underwater. I've been cleaning the pool filter this way for 3.5 years. I think this practice has taken a toll on my palms. They are both over 4 years old and were planted from 24" boxes.
Appearance of both queen palms:
each has 2 to 4 leafs which are rust brown in color. The entire leaf.
each has new leafs growing but the color is light green to yellow.
What I do? Can I feed these guys something special, if so what? I want these palms healthy, I want to see the dark green color return to all leafs". I think that I must act now or these palms will surely die.
Thank you in advance for your time and for sharing your knowledge.
Frank
