We recently moved from Maryland to Florida. We have a Gardenia tree in our front yard. It partially covers the front walk. We looked into moving it but found out Gardenia trees are fragile. We would like to prune it as far back as possible without killing it. We also need to know the best time of year to prune the tree. Do you have any suggestions? The tree is about seven feet tall and about seven feet wide. The previous owners appeared to have pruned the tree around the L-shaped front walk. As the tree stands now, you have to duck around it to use the front door. Thanks for your help.
