Hello
I'm hoping you can help advise on care for our bouganvillea vine that we planned last summer.

We had lots of rain last winter in San Francisco bay area and it grew nicely with wonderful blooms in spring but the braets are now many are falling off quickly. Should I be watering more or less frequently to keep blooms through summer?

We also planted some annuals under the vine, which require regular watering but I don't want to conflict watering needed to keep the color show of bouganvillea blooms.

I've read that established bouganvillea plants don't need much water, but it did seam to flower best when I watered in spring and I'm not sure ours is considered very established as yet. This plant gets south exposure with mostly morning sun.

We also have a 3 year old bouganvillea plant in an container, that was transplanted last summer. It gets western exposure with sun in afternoons and has also been loosing braets, so it might be a seasonal issue but we see magnificent vines in our neighboorhood that seem to still be doing so well.

  Many thanks,
  Bouganvillea Hopeful!
