[Arid_gardener] Queen Palms

We have four queen palms. The one on the Southwest side of the home is doing well. The three on the Northwest side take turns looking bad and good.

The one we are most worried about looks straggly. We have never "stripped" them so that frequently it appears the new growth is stymied from expanding out as it should. Most recently the big new growth fond near the center got damaged by the wind and is broken and hanging over.

What can we do to increase its chances for survival? How should we trim/feed them. My husband puts food (bought at Moon Valley) right around the trunk. They are watered frequently.

Thanks.
