I have recently bought a home in Surprise, AZ. It is in a more rural area and the one acre lot has been neglected. Lots of gravel and few trees around the house. I am anxious to get trees in but would like a more traditional garden around the house (using more water) and would like to know what tree would be compatable with the water needs of a rose, iris, daylilies, etc. this is a small part of the lot and more efficient xeriscaping will be done at the out edges with something more transitional between. It is on the east side of the house. Any suggestions would be really appreciated. Just learning to garden in desert area from having been in coastal Calfornia.
