[Arid_gardener] agave question

Hi, 
Believe it or not - I just saw your agave question online from 2002, and I was wondering the same thing.
How fast do pups grow, since our agave plant just got taken away, after blooming and dying.
The lady who removed it, saved the pups and is putting them into pots and then plans to plant them elsewhere.
If i knew they would grow quickly, I would ask her to bring one back to plant in the place of the one that just died.
If it will take years, I won't do that.
Any idea of how fast the pups grow ?
