I am not aware of a prescribed schedule for applying iron. Some soils
have lots of it. Some do not. Some plants need additional iron.
Others don't.
If you are certain your tree needs it. you might begin with an annual
application and increase the frequency if that isn't enough.
"Sequestrene 138 Fe" is one of the fastest acting powdered iron
supplements, currently available as "KeRex". If you want to use it and
can't find it try calling Western Organics in Tempe to locate a retailer
near you.
Ironite is perhaps the most widely available iron supplement. Usually
comes in a granular powder but is also now available in liquid form. If
you want to use it, you may want to also review the articles at
http://www.ironite.com/mineralogical_right.htm#INTER AG SERVICES, INC.
LABORATORIES
and
http://www.health.state.mn.us/divs/eh/risk/studies/ironite.htm
Sequestrene 138 Fe is probably faster acting, may show results in within
2 weeks, but Ironite will last longer in the soil.
