We had a Chilean mesquite which broke off in a storm. We need to replace it. I have heard that Chilean mesquite exudes some toxic substance which makes it difficult for any replacement to survive. Is that so? We had a ficus but is dying (cracked bark, stunted growth) Any suggestions for replacements? Is a seedless Olive a good choice? Thanks.
