I am a Master Garderer in southeastern Minnesota as well as a Certified Professional Agronomist and I have several customers/farmers who live in the Phoenix, AZ area over the winter and come back to Minnesota to farm during the summer.  Several have asked me about what kind of herbicide is available that would control weeds during thier absense (the summer months).  One asked me about Pramitol, I explained that will kill everything and may leach in the lighter textured soils and may even kill trees, cacti etc.  What do homeowners that move back over the summer do to keep weeds from becoming an unsightly mess, yet remain environmentally concerned?   Any links to publications would be helpful!
