That is quite a challenge. Amna. Is it a ficus Nitida? It looks like some 
one has tried to asphalier this tree.

I would try to imagine how I would like the tree to look. Then study the 
interior carefully from beneath and select branch removal that might 
accomplish the objective step by step. Take your time, weeks, months, 
whatever it takes. Begin thinning out the interior a little at a time until 
you can get a getter look. Contemplate every move carefully. Save the major 
branches at first but you will later probably rid some.

If you botch the job, don't dispair. Dig this one out and replant a 
tangerine or tangelo.

I am not an arborist by any stretch of the imagination but I have pruned 
many trees without ruining any of them. If you don't know any of the basics, 
log on to an instructural webb site and follow directions on how and where 
to cut without damaging the tree.
