I recently read this suggestion -- I haven't tried it myself, I don't
know how practical it is, I know that the problem is the larvae and not
so much the adult bugs, and I don't know how many times you would need
to do this to make a useful dent in the population. That said, here's
the tip:

Put a baggie over the business end of a flyswatter. Tie the baggie shut.
Smear Vaseline over the outside of the baggie.Swish it around your
plants -- whiteflies get stuck on the Vaseline. Dispose. Repeat.

If nothing else, it sounds like a very active way to vent one's
frustrations.
