[Arid_gardener] Nut Grass

Cathy, thanks for that wisdom. Most of us have come to believe that
eradicating Nutsedge is a job for Superman using TNT and the power of
prayer. When we did away with the grass on the East side of the Extension
building, we knew the Bermuda would be persistant but some one forgot to
tell us the Nut Grass would be difficult. It wasn't but we had to work at
eliminating the Bermuda and wire-grass for several years by poping out an
ocassional blade of grass and its stolen with a trowel. We screened the top
4 to 5 inches to get rid of 90% of the live stolens or junctions. We used no
chemicals because a few of our members were dead set against it. After six
years, there is no grass in that area, not even the medicinal variety.

Today, I would have no qualms about using either Manage, Image or Monument.
