[Arid_gardener] Chinese Tallow yellowing

I am not familiar with this tree. I did a web search (Google)
and there is quite a lot of information about it --- but mostly
how to get rid of it because it is an invasive species and
the sap is an irritant (it is a Euphorbia). Perhaps not as
invasive in arid regions (?)
One site in California has some cultural information:
http://www.canopy.org/db/main.asp?tree=57
"Grows in most soils, but prefers acidic conditions"
So, it might not be too much water; but our
highly alkaline soils might be causing a problem.
Possibly salt damage??
I could not find information about color change --
just that ir turns red in the fall.
