[Arid_gardener] Lantana's life cycle? dormant stages?

Here in Tucson we have grown lantana for several years without problems,
even when
pruning them with hedge shears. They do die back after a frost, but come
right back
when it warms up again. Cut back brown, dead stems, or if the damage is
severe, cut
the plants back to the ground in January or February. They should sprout
back with
fresh growth shortly after it warms up. The trailing lantanas are more hardy
to cold than
the shrubby varieties, but we grow both without problems.
