The usual advice is not to plant trees or shrubs with roots systems that can
grow into the leach field or trees with roots strong enough to break into a
concrete septic tank.  In some areas, fiberglass septic tanks are allowed
and these would be more vulnerable.

You might also try a Google search.  That is how I found Scottsdale's
brochure. I got a lot of hits, not specifically about native AZ plants over
septic systems, but about plants in general.
