Should be okay if your irrigation water is not loaded with salts. My
experiece has been that the pores clog up after a few year resulting in
uneven water distributiion with water squirting out of the hoses toward the
supply end. Other people have indicated no problem with this.

For years I used drip tapes but have started to convert to quarter-inch
soaker-drip lines that are available with half gph emitters exruded inline
at either 6, 12 or 24-inch intervals. May be viewed at
http://www.dripworksusa.com/store/soakdrp.html. I can fertilize through the
drip system with a wettable powder fertilizer without and problems. It
results in a whitish deposit around the emitter holes but so far as I can
tell there has been no decrease in the emitter rates.

----- Original Message -----From: <pollyrs at cox.net>> I have 1/4" laser
drilled hoses for watering in my veggie garden but haven't been pleased
w/how they work -- coverage of water, etc. I see they now have the 1/4"
"soaker" hose that lets water ooze out of the entire hose rather than just a
few holes. Anyone had experience w/this type of watering? How far out from
the hose could I expect the soil to be properly watered in a 30 minute time
frame?
