we are wanting to prune our frost damaged ficus trees.  They are starting to bud out on the major branches, but nothing on the smaller branches.  One tree is about 15 ft and the other around 25 ft tall.  (5-9 years)  are there guidelines to follow when pruning?  Do we need to protect the pruned areas?
