I have a rose bush (I think an old fashion rose) with small, flat red roses and small leaves. Within the last year, the rose has cross pollinated or grafted itself to roses next to it. The bushes are turning into the old fashion rose bush. Both types are coming from the same trunk and branches, distinctly different branches.

Now, I noticed the same thing is happening to roses bushes on the back of my lot (one acre). The same small rose has taken over and converting a yellow rose bush.

It looks like I am at risk of losing all my roses to an aggressive rose. Should I cut down the old fashion rose and cut off the branches that have converted? Is this cross pollination or some type of grafting or what? I have had all these bushes for at least 15 years without this one taking over.

Yow!!!!
