I contacted my Extension office in Illinois and was referred to your organization.  I have a cactus in my sunroom that is about 20 years old.  My son had gotten it from somewhere (we can't remember where) when he was little.  The cactus is now about 8 feet tall and will soon reach the ceiling.  I have not been able to find anything to help me identify the name or how to care for it.  I need to try to stop it from getting taller, but I am worried that if I cut the top off, it will kill it.  The cactus also needs to be put in a new pot but I don't know how to handle it to keep it from breaking or my getting hurt.  I have pictures I could send if anyone feels they could help me.
