[Arid_gardener] Help With My Jacaranda

Hello. I am hoping you can help us.

We live in the Ahwatukee Foothills area of Phoenix and we planted a
young Jacaranda 2 years
ago.

That first year, it bloomed a bit but was a small tree so not too
much....just a few blooms.

Last year, we got plenty of green but no blooms. I understand this
might not be so unusual in young
Jacaranda.

This year however, we have yet to get any green leaves. None other than
some new sprigs growing down
low on the trunk which my husbant promptly removed because he thought
they might be preventing
water from going up. I'm worried he should not have done that.

We have checked the trunk and it is green and alive. Obviously since it
was sprouting new growth. However, the branches
up top do snap easily and may have been ruined by our very cold winter.

Is our tree going to make it?

Is there anything at all we can do to help it along?

Appreciate the help!

Juliana
