[Arid_gardener] Silver Dollar Eucalyptus

Yes, Ed, these large trees while originating in Victoria, Australia are  
hardy in the Phoenix-Mesa area. I was surprised to read that you had seen  them in 
Flagstaff, but then read that they frost tolerant from 14-18 degree F.  
weather. I have had one for about 20 years in my yard. Here is a link  from Desert

Eucalyptus are known for dropping large, very heavy limbs in  windstorms so 
be careful where you place it.

I live in Mesa and after  checking the landscaping in the area I have not 
seen any Silver Dollar  Eucaliptus (sp. I have seen them up north in Flagstaff. I 
want to know if they  are adaptable to my area.
