[Arid_gardener] Question from Home-Hort WWW page

All of a sudden, two of my Lady In Red Salvia plants have died. They look dried up, but they are getting plenty of water. I have added organic matter for fertilizer. I don't see any significant pests, and I pulled one up and checked the roots for grubs, but did not find any. ANy thoughts?
