I cut back some frost damaged bougainvilla plants the beginning of May. One of our plants is the pink kind and is south facing and grew back just find. You can't even tell it was severely frost damaged. I have several of the purple kind that are on an east facing wall that have barely grown back and the leaves are a yellowish green or lime green color not the dark green that they were. The plants had lots of new growth before I cut them back and the new growth seemed just fine. Any ideas of what is going on or should I be giving them something like Ironite? I did give them some fertilizer for shrubs that the nursery recommeded but it didn't seem to help.
