Back when the AZ State Fair still had a respectable Agriculture Section, 
large pomegranates (=> 4") used be exhibited in October so I assumed that 
was the correct time for picking.  But at that time our 'Wonderful' seeds 
sacs are only a light pink.  By neglecting the fruit for a few years we 
found that the seed sacs did not attain the bright violet characteristic 
color until well into January.
