[Arid_gardener] algerian ivy?

I live in Peoria, AZ and I am wondering how algerian ivy  would do on a 
north facing block fence. It is shaded most of the year, except summer. 
  I am guessing it would sunburn in the summer and would need to be cut 
back, but how would it do the rest of the year? I am wanting a vine 
that will thrive on the wall, which is about 30 feet in length.
