My question is about the root system development of Date Palms.  We recently had a job where Date Palms in 6' diameter planters caused buckling in the hardscape where they were planted.  I am working on a large project in Paradise Valley that will use Date Palms in a backyard pool area.  How much planter space will they need so as not to cause a problem in the futre.  Any information you can share will be appreciated.
