[Arid_gardener] lantana & peas

I have a very large \ old lantana plant that grows up & over our  N-border 
wall.  The branches that are oh the S side are trimmed up to the  top; the 
branches & foliage start at 6 ft. and grow over the other (N) side  of the wall.
 
As lantana is poisonous, can I plant peas up the same (S. side of the)  wall? 
 In other words, is it poisonous to just grow an edible plant in the  same 
ground as a poisonous plant?
