Citrus trees, unlike deciduous fruit trees, are not pruned to enhance fruit
production. Pruning should be limited to removing dead or frost-damaged
wood, to remove water sprouts, or to remove branches that get in the way.
If you are not concerned with production, you could prune it now which could
result in reduced production if buds are removed. Or you could wait until
after the fruit has been harvested.
